Whitsundays to MacKay

After three weeks in the Whitsundays proper we decided we needed to head south to Bundaberg and earn some serious $$'s. We left Airlie heading for Bundaberg with the plan to island hop all the way. We stopped overnight at Lindeman, and then Thomas which was a beautiful little bay. Then started making our way to Scawfell.

Yes, started is the operative word, well, we actually nearly got there and rang our friends Bernie and Peter to say we wouldnt be coming into MacKay, going to head straight down to Bundaberg. Well, we didnt count on Bernie having friends in VERY high places. Five minutes later after she expressed her disappointment by text the engine was running hot...AGAIN. Just what you need going into a little reef lined bay - but hey, at least it was daylight this time. So we crawl into the bay and brendan investigates. This time the heat exchanger has a leak somewhere inaccessible. So ... what to do... nothing for it but to head into MacKay the next day for help. Of course that night because we were in an anchorage sheltered from the southerlies, the northerly kicked in - only for that night mind you..and after we had dropped the anchor....unbelievable!

So, off to MacKay it was, and here we still are. We did plan to head down to Bundaberg but there is heaps of work here, Brendan building and as for me? Well I have the wonderful job as a hotel cleaner at the marina hotel - verrry nice hotel, but would much, much, much prefer to be staying in it than cleaning it!

Hi guys, finally got the site address right. Keep up the diary, its very good reading and aggrevating that rather large itchy part of my foot.
