Our time was running out, so after several days at Panwa Bali, we checked out of Thailand to head back to Langkawi and fly back to NZ for Mum's 70th birthday. We left Panwa Bali and headed for Koh Phi Phi Don, and anchored in a lovely secluded bay called Monkey Bay. Lovely and secluded from dusk to dawn, and then
the longtails with their myriad of tourists descend!After 2 nights here we decided to head down 5 miles to Koh Phi Phi Lee (aka Maya beach). This is where the movie "The Beach" was filmed and again a VERY popular tourist attraction. We luckily found a mooring ball available and hooked up to that. Very dramatic, very tall limestone cliffs just towering over the top of us. Once most of the tourists left we went ashore to have a look around. What a stunning place this
is, crystal clear water, fish everywhere, beautiful white sandy beach - and a boat load of tourists coming to camp for the night!!
